Grange Youth Fair Program

History of the Program

In 1982, the California State Grange adopted a resolution that established the Youth Fair Program.

Working with the California State Fairs and Expositions, the Grange was able to have the Youth Fair Program  included in the rules for expositions rules as a sanctioned group, on the same level as 4H and FFA.

The Grange Youth Fair Program offers young members the opportunity to exhibit at County Fairs and Expositions within California State that has recognized and approved the Grange Youth Fair Program. The mission of the Grange Youth Fair Program is to maximize the potential of our young Grange members by providing guidance as they develop a greater understanding and appreciation for our agricultural abundance, as well as creating and developing individual skills.

Through the leader’s planning, teaching, and encouragement of these young people in their hands-on projects, and the cooperative and competitive experience of exhibiting at fairs they will become more responsible, self-directed, and successful citizens in our society.
